About Cagrilintide
Cagrilintide (AM833)
Research background as published in the scientific literature. Supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only; nothing here is a claim about use in humans or animals.
Cagrilintide (AM833) is a long-acting amylin analogue developed by Novo Nordisk. Amylin is a 37-amino acid peptide co-secreted with insulin from pancreatic beta cells that plays a role in postprandial glucose regulation and satiety signalling.
Research has examined cagrilintide's ability to activate amylin receptors (CALCR + RAMPs) to modulate food intake, gastric emptying, and body weight. Phase 2 trials examining the combination of cagrilintide with semaglutide (CagriSema) have reported substantial body weight effects, with Phase 3 trials currently underway.

- 01Amylin Receptor AgonismCagrilintide is a long-acting analogue of amylin, a peptide co-secreted with insulin from pancreatic beta cells. Research examines its effects on appetite signalling via area postrema and nucleus tractus solitarius pathways.
- 02Satiety & Food IntakeLaboratory and clinical research has investigated cagrilintide's role in reducing caloric intake and modulating meal size through central satiety pathways. Studies examine synergistic effects with GLP-1 receptor agonists.
- 03Metabolic RegulationResearch has examined cagrilintide's effects on glucose homeostasis, gastric emptying rate, and body composition. Phase 3 clinical trials (CagriSema) are examining combined cagrilintide + semaglutide treatment.
