About TB-500
Thymosin Beta-4 Fragment (Ac-LKKTETQ)
Research background as published in the scientific literature. Supplied for in-vitro laboratory research only; nothing here is a claim about use in humans or animals.
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide fragment of Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4), corresponding specifically to the actin-binding domain (Ac-LKKTETQ). Thymosin Beta-4 is a ubiquitous 43-amino acid protein involved in actin sequestration and cell motility. TB-500 recapitulates key biological activities of the full protein in a shorter, more stable format.
Preclinical research has examined TB-500 in models of tendon, muscle, cardiac, and gastrointestinal tissue repair. Studies have proposed mechanisms involving actin dynamics, VEGF upregulation, inflammatory modulation, and stem cell migration. It is one of the most extensively studied tissue repair peptides in the preclinical literature.

- 01Actin SequestrationTB-500 corresponds to the actin-binding domain of Thymosin Beta-4. Research has examined how it sequesters G-actin monomers, influencing the dynamic equilibrium between actin polymerisation and depolymerisation — a key regulator of cell migration and tissue remodelling.
- 02Cell Migration & Wound HealingLaboratory studies have investigated TB-500's effects on fibroblast, keratinocyte, and endothelial cell migration in wound healing models. Research proposes that actin regulation promotes directional cell movement required for repair and re-epithelialisation.
- 03Angiogenesis ResearchPreclinical research has examined TB-500's role in stimulating new blood vessel formation. Studies report upregulation of VEGF and other angiogenic markers in injury models, with proposed contributions to improved perfusion of healing tissues.
